- Rav Moshe Kalfon HaKohen (1874-1950) - Born in Djerba, Tunisia. Most famous for his Shu"t Shoel VeNishaal and series on Shulchan Aruch entitled BritKehunah
- Chacham Avraham Belais (1773-1853) - Also Tunisian. He would later move to Israel, France and London. Known for several works including Acharit LaIsh Shalom on the Shulchan Aruch and Petach HaBayit a collection of his sermons.
- Chacham Yaacov Moshe Toledano (1879-1960) - He was born in Tiveria, Israel but he would later serve as Dayan in Tangier (and then Av Beit Din in Cairo). He is well known for his responsa - Yam HaGadol as well as Bat Ami which deals with the issue of Agunot after the Holocaust.
- Chacham David Zabah - was Chief Rabbi in Marrakesh, Morocco. Known for his Maskil LeDavid on Tanach and Shas as well as Moreh Tzedek
- Rav Raphael Ankawa (1848–1935) was Chief Rabbi of Morocco along with many other prestigious roles he was accorded. He wrote, Karnei Re'em (1910), Pa'amonei Zahav (1912), and To'afot Re'em (1930).
